Prey: Imperium Protectors (Coveted Prey Book 1), written by L.V. Lane is a 312-page novel that is part of a series of 22 (so far anyway)
The genre falls under omegaverse (learn more about this genre here), paranormal, and reverse harem (learn more about this genre here), It is written with a multi-POV for every freaking main character.
I give it a 2.5 out of 5. If you’re an avid reader like I am sometimes you’re in the mood for a certain type of book and sometimes you’re not. This is the type of book that doesn’t have deep substance, it is purely fantasy and sexual. This isn’t a bad thing, but I’ve read sexually charged books that had some character growth, this is just one of those books where you want every other page to be a sex scene.
General Thoughts/Spoilers:
- The style is reverse harem, but with little character growth. The omega sees herself as weak and readily opens her legs to her captors (which is fine, no shaming here)
- The concept in this omegaverse is when an alpha finds an omega she’s shared with his whole family…so…there’s that.
- I HATE when there’s more than two POVs…but I guess when you do a reverse harem it makes sense
- The sex scenes are hot.
- If you expect character growth of some kind, you’ll be disappointed. To enjoy the book, just accept it’s more erotically driven.
