Ensnared by J.S. Scott

Screen Shot 2020-09-19 at 9.45.05 PMEnsnared, by J.S. Scott is a 243-page contemporary romance novel and is the first book out of a 5-book series called, The Accidental Billionaires. I will be reading all 5 so expect to see lots of back to back from this author. It is written from a third-person POV, two-sided.

I cheated. This should be read after The Sinclairs (See review for book 1:) as these characters are siblings to the Sinclairs on the east coast. It is revealed that the west coast Sinclairs (this book) were a second family and are half siblings of the east coasters. Their father was apparently a bigamist and was quite busy considering he has a total of ten children. When the east coast Sinclair’s learned about their west coast siblings they cut them in on it, hence the series title, The Accidental Billionaires.

Jade grew up poor so when she found out that she was rich she didn’t quite know how to handle it. She spent a minimal of her inheritance, just buying herself a home by the water in her favorite area, while only spending the money she made at her job. She is a wildlife conservationist and approaches Eli asking for his land so she can preserve the species there.

Eli sees Jade and decides he needs to have her. He is a billionaire and growing richer with each day. He is also considered a dare-devil in the public eye and like the stereo-typical billionaire is also a play boy. He tells Jade he won’t sell her his land and she fears that he will use it to construct some monstrosity. He promises that he won’t and then immediately asks her for dinner. She shoots him down and he chases.

Overall, I found the characters likeable and the author did a great job introducing future players and you will cheer for them. I’m excited to read the rest of their stories.

In summary, I give this a 4 out of 5.
