Hmm, so this is meant to just be a short and fun romance. I enjoyed the book a lot, but the part that made me laugh the most were the emails the boss, Garrett West, wrote. He’d start it off with, “Dear Valued Employees…” and end it with, “You’re very welcome for the generous opportunities I provide for you…”

So that message in itself was hilarious and made me want to read the book. It follows a story of a workaholic boss (Garrett) who’s been in love with his top advisor (Savannah) at his company, for who knows how long.

Savannah appears to be estranged from her family, but you never really learn why so she hasn’t visited them for almost ten years for the holidays. Her grandma owns some swanky resort in Colorado.

Garrett has an insane rule that no one is allowed to take a day in December off and EVERYONE is required to attend the office holiday party which will usually run two to three weeks, all expenses paid…usually somewhere nice.

There are some gaps in the book that were unsatisfactory, for example, Savannah has a boyfriend who’ll send messages to Garrett asking for cash so that he can take Savannah out someplace nice…but Savannah never learns about it…oh and the ex doesn’t take her any place nice, so he’s clearly doing something with the cash.

I know, I know, it’s a short book, but I do wish that had been addressed because it made me annoyed and I wanted Savannah to know what a douche her ex is. The book was very fast paced, and the other part that was a little upsetting is that areas that you wished would be resolve didn’t. And when I say the book is fast paced, I mean sometimes things would be happening and you were wondering where it even came from.

In summary, I give this a 3 out of 5. It was a fun, quick read for the holidays.
